Self-tapping thread element
Abstract
Abstract A self-tapping thread element for screw connections in viscoplastic material is secured against unscrewing, without additional securing elements, in that the outer surface (1) of the thread is divided into a plurality of angular regions within each one of which its radius increases continuously from a lower value to an upper value, in the sense of the screwing-in direction, and in that the transition between these angular regions takes place non-continuously. In this case, threaded teeth (3) are formed from the outer surface (1) of the thread, which threaded teeth (3) hold the quantity of material which is displaced during screwing-in in their cavities, and in consequence produce increased strength against unscrewing. <IMAGE>
