Device for the optical inspection of a weld seam lying under an insulating layer

Abstract Translated from German Zur Überprüfung einer Schweißnaht eines Werkstückes (1), welche unter einer Isolierschicht oder an einer sonst unzugänglichen Stelle liegt, wird die Prüfung mittels eines in einem Führungsrohr (2) um die Schweißnaht geführten Endoskopes (3) vorgeschlagen. Das Führungsrohr (2) weist nahe der Außenseite der Isolierschicht ein aufgeweitetes Ende (8) auf, in welches das Endoskop (3) auch von einem Manipulator eingefädelt werden kann. Das Führungsrohr (2) ist dem Verlauf der Schweißnaht folgend an dem Werkstück (1) befestigt und zur Schweißnaht hin offen. Beim Einschieben oder Ausfahren des Endoskopes wird die Prüfstelle beleuchtet und ein Bild der Prüfstelle über eine Fernsehkamera (6) auf einen Monitor (7) übertragen. In Abständen auf dem Endoskop befestigte Gleitstücke (22) bewirken eine exakte Führung des Endoskopes über der zu prüfenden Schweißnaht. Die Führung des Endoskopes durch einen kleinen Wagen und eine zusätzliche Beleuchtung der Prüfstelle durch einen weiteren Lichtleiter können die Präzision der Prüfung noch steigern. Sliders (22) fastened at intervals on the endoscope cause the endoscope to be guided precisely over the weld seam to be tested. The guidance of the endoscope through a small trolley and additional lighting of the test point through an additional light guide can increase the precision of the test.
