Independent operation of several electric model locomotives - using changes in basic voltage and specified selection of voltage frequency
Abstract
Abstract The toy or model locomotive operation uses control siqnal transmission with modulated basic voltage of variable polarity, continuously supplied to the toy train set current leads. The train set locomotives comprise receivers and controllers for the power supply to the traction motors. For operation of locomotives without such receivers and controllers, the DC component of the basic voltage across the current leads is changed without affecting the rectifier value of this voltage. The frequency of the basic voltage is to be selected so high that the voltage alternating component is not sufficient to drive these locomotive traction motors. Thus it does not generate any non-permissible motor heating. When a rectangular voltage is used, the scanning ratio of the rectangular voltage is used for changing the direct component of this basic voltage.
