Abstract

Abstract The probe forms an artificial passage at an oesophageal stenosis, being inserted with the aid of a tube detachable from it. The shank of the endoscope passes freely through the probe and the tube. The probe (1,2,4,7) is in the form of a spiral coil, which can be temporarily secured at the distal end by fixing devices (8,9) to the endoscope shank (3), while its proximal end is directly or indirectly connected to the tube (5). Thus when the latter is turned in one direction, the diameter of the coil is reduced in relation to the endoscope shank.
