Cylindrical heating element for electric hair dryer - has conductor rails fitted into peripheral slots of insulating cylinder wound with heating wires
Abstract
Abstract The heating element comprises a heat-resistant hollow cylinder (6) of ceramics or plastics, with spaced narrow radial ribs, extending outwards from its peripheral surface. These ribs are arranged in pairs, so that each pair defines a reception slot (12) into which an insulating plate (13) can be slid, the plates supporting the wound resistive heating wires (9). Additional ribs define channels which receive conductor rails, each bent up at one end (4) and with offset forks (5) for gripping the ends of the heating wires (9). The conductor rails have serrated zones along their side edges, to hold them in the required axial position within e corresponding reception channel.
