Bag-type dust filter for mines - with flap valve closing one of two chambers briefly for back flushing
Abstract
Abstract In a bag-type filter, esp. for use in belt conveyor transfer stations of underground mines, both the dust-laden air space are divided by partitions into parallel ducts. Between the filter and the suction fan, a flap valve continues the partition but can be moved from a neutral position, where both ducts are open to positions on either side where one of the ducts is temporarily shut off. During this side position, backflushing tubes in the clean air space are operated in short bursts to clean the adhering dust from the filter bags. Actions can be automated as a function of the pressure drop across the filter. This results in a low-cost filter which never has to be cut off.
