Abstract
Abstract The oscillation detector uses a piezoelectric flexural oscillator. A first electrode (16) of the oscillator (13) is connected to the input of a pulse width modulator (19), whose output delivers, during a first time interval, an electric signal indicating the knocking process. The modulator output can be connected during a second time interval to a second electrode (17) of the oscillator (13) for damping. Between the output of the pulse width modulator (19) and the second electrode (17) of the oscillator (13), a switch (23) is connected, the switch being controlled by the ignition tuning unit (24) of an internal combustion engine.
