Abstract

Abstract Bipolar electrode catheter for a cardiac pacemaker has >=2 insulated conductors of which one is connected with an electrode tip to be introduced into the heart, whilst the other conductor(s) is (are) connected from a mantle electrode surrounding the conductors and spaced away from the electrode tip. The mantle electrode consists of flexible, electrically conductive, plastics, specifically a high-polymeric, cross-linked, polysiloxane contg. inorganic fillers to effect conductivity. The polymer is a silicone rubber. The fillers are pulverulent metal.
