Spray nozzle covering disc - is driven by fluid flowing axially through deflector passages in it
Abstract
Abstract Covering disc is for spray nozzles producing one or more pulsating jets, masking the openings temporarily as it rotates. The disc is directly driven by the fluid flow in its axial direction, having one or more passages through it, deflecting the fluid from its path in the axial direction. These passages can be spiral shaped, and the fluid can flow either in the axial direction through the disc, or axially into it and radially out of it. The disc can rotate about a spindle in the nozzle housing, having a central bore closed at the upstream end by a hat-shaped cap. A trunnion fixed in the housing fits in the bore and supports the disc in the axial and radial directions.
