Abstract
Abstract The endoscope accommodates, besides the surgicla instruments, a light, and a viewing tube fitted with objective lens and eyepiece. The viewing tube can be moved axially along the endoscope and fixed in any desired position. The range of movement is pref. sufficient to bring the distal edge of the endoscope into view. The light is pref. similarly adjustable, either as a separate unit, or coupled to the viewing tube. Both adjustments are required to leave the endoscope airtight, and the clamping sleeves through which the adjustment is made, are pref. fitted with sealing rings for this purpose.
