Hardenable plastics aircraft components mfr. - with improved surface finish, by coating the moulding with mixt. of dyestuff and/or metal and binder and hardening
Abstract
Abstract Mfr. of a moulding of hardenable, esp. fibre-reinforced plastics, using a base mould, with simultaneous quality-improving surface finish by means of a mixt. of a dyestuff and/or metal and an admixed binder, is claimed. The surface of the mould is coated with the mixt. and the resulting layer is combined with a ready-made of in-situ-formed blank of the intended article, by simultaneous and common curing, to give an integral body. The blank is covered with a film which protrudes at least over the edge of the base mould to which it then air-tightly connected. The space between base mould and film is subsequently evacuated in order to remove air from both the layer and the blank. The process is relatively inexpensive and can be carried out without an autoclave.
