Abstract
Abstract The core of the optical cable is embedded in a plastic sheath, and the whole is covered with an outer sheath. The core is surrounded with a thermoplastic resin forming a radial chamber system like a spoked wheel. The optical transmission elements are placed in the clear chambers. This system is braided and covered with a further plastic coat. Optical transmission elements in a chamber (4) are in the form of a ribbon cable. The interior members form a core comprising a cluster of stranded wires (2) made from nickel alloy steel.
