Two colour source colorimeter - illuminates specimen in sequence using two colours and synchronously detected reflections produce ratio
Abstract
Abstract A colorimeter uses two light sources with distinctly separate wavelengths which are energised alternately by a time division exciter unit so that a light spot is directed by an optical system to a specimen under examination. The light reflected from the speciment falls on a photodetector which generates corresponding alternating output signals which are split in synchronism with the source excitation by a time division circuit. The resulting signals after amplification are compared in a comparator with a reference signal to determine the percentage of the reference signal level represented for each of the colours. The percentage reflections characteristic of a number of reference colours can be coded as an identification of the different colours for quick reference.
