Abstract

Abstract The electric storage heating for heating buildings mainly by convection in the low temp. range with gentle liberation of heat and low tranverse load on the heating resistor material has glass bricks filled with Na2CO3. 10H2O for storing the heat, as in DT.2360305, the phase conversion of Na2CO3. 10H2O (liquid-solid) being utilised for storage. The bricks can also be filled with Na2SO4. 10H2O. These glass bricks have a high capacity (phase conversion temp. ca. 28K, latent heat ca. 80kcal/kg/ and are attractive, so that they can be built into walls.
