Abstract
Abstract Appts. for measuring the wall thickness of extruded plastic layers, e.g. pipes or cable sheaths, has detector rollers running on the outer face of the plastic layer, and measuring sensors built into >=1 detector roller(s). The latter roller(s) lie with only a slight pressing force on the outer face immediately behind the extrusion outlet. Accurate measurement of the wall thickness is effected rapidly without damaging the wall of the extruded prod. This enables the extrusion process to be controlled.
