Disconnectable plug-in connectors for glass fibre bundles - have plug and socket arrangement for separate light conducting fibres
Abstract
Abstract The plug comprises an internal part (1) in a sleeve (3). Part (1) has at its one end a projection (4) of appropriate cross section and length to fit into the female part (16) of the socket. Rings (11) and (21) are used for holding the individual optical fibres respectively. The inner parts of the plug and socket arrangement are drilled to receive cores of the respective phaser bunches. For branching-off special light dispersion-connectors are added to the optical fibres, so that one fibre can feed two or more lines. In the ring-holes (11, 12) special inserts are provided to facilitate mating of the ends of the fibres. Cores and inner parts (1, 13) are made of conducting material.
