Rear view mirror for motor vehicles - has two gears with motor driven position drives to pivot mirror
Abstract
Abstract The mirror is externally mounted and has a remote control mechanism that is switch operated. The mirror carrier has a mirror that pivots parallel to the carrier axis and a position motor drive offset from the pivoting axis. The mirror automatically returns to its original position after movement by an external force. A gear of the position drive is supported so that it can move the mirror in both directions and has a monostable spring loading. The mirror has a ball and socket mounting and a separate connection point for the position drive with a sprung intermediate support bush in the carrier. A second gear with its own position drive and similar design provides adjustment on an axis normal to the first gear.
