Applying a plastics, esp upholstered, covering onto a support - by HF welding foils of different colours and surface characteristics together
Abstract
Abstract Applying plastics covering(s), esp. upholstered covering, to a support, comprises HF welding together, with the use of electrodes, plastics foils which differ from one another in colour and/or surface characteristics. A foil to be applied to another one is roughly trimmed, placed onto the other foil and the excess margin is then mechanically trimmed off during the welding-together step. The "excess margin" is defined as the edge of the foil to be applied that protrudes over the electrode. No need for time-consuming positioning of an accurately dimensioned section of foil. The final trimming during the welding step is easy because the foil is then in a plastic, severable state. The resulting edge is, after cooling and solidification, clean and true to the desired contour.
