Anti-theft protection for car - with battery and isolating switch in armoured container in engine compartment
Abstract
Abstract The vehicle battery is housed in an armoured container inside the engine compartment. The container is linked to the dashboard by an armoured tube. This leads to a dash board mounted switch and an immobilising key. The key operates a Bowden cable or other mechanical linkage to isolate the battery from the rest of the vehicle electric supply. The container also houses the isolating switch. The switch is double poled and also provides a (6 volt) outlet when the (12V) supply is cut off. This enables parking lights to be operated so that the vehicle can be left at night. Special (6V) parking lamps are used for this.
