Device simulating peristaltic waves in haemocyte free vessel valve - has hydraulically pumped elastic chambers acting as valves
Abstract
Abstract In an addition to P24 23 673 a device to simulate peristaltic waves in a haemocyte free internal vessel valve system uses alternating in and out pumping cycles of a hydraulic fluid into ring type stacked chambers constructed of elastic material which have reinforcement elements to strengthen their construction. When the elastic inner material is fully inflated it closes the vessel and can, by external control, then act as a valve. When used as a valve the internal diameter of the vessel may also be closed by several similar or variously shaped inflatable pads. The principle can be used in the construction of a heart valve.
