Vehicle door lock striker plate mount - has reinforcement strut to induce pulling force in event of side impact
Abstract
Abstract The reinforcement strut is fixed to the front inner wall of the rear door pillar and runs at an angle to the vehicles outer side to fix at a point with the outer will of the door pillar. The fixing plates are slipped behind the struts short leg where it is fixed to the front door pillar via slots provided. Elongated holes are provided in the strut to compensate for screw adjustment. To prevent the plates from moving when being screwed up, the free end of the reinforcement leg has two turn ups and at least two rounded of steps, close to the fixing holes. In the event of a side impact, the reinforcement strut helps to prevent the door from pulling the striker plate out.
