Cleaning clothes with ultrasonic waves - by passing them, on hangers, through a chamber which opt. contains cleaning fluid
Abstract
Abstract Clothes are cleaned by passing them, on hangers, through a chamber, and subjecting them to ultrasonic waves, opt. in conjunction with a cleaning fluid. The system allows the garments to be kept on hangers, reducing labour in removing and rehanging, giving a continuous throughput and giving the equipment a high working capacity. Ultrasonic generators are located at intervals along the channel, the transport mechanism being operated to give the garments sufficient dwell time to be irradiated completely by the ultrasonic waves. The garments may be sprayed before immersion in the fluid to prevent the development of air bubbles in the fabric. The system can be extended further by arranging a number of successive cleaning zones, using the same principle, to give a number of treatments as the garments pass through the equipment.
