Abstract

Abstract The housing is 'C' shaped in cross section with open sides and front and rounded corners. It is constructed of a shock proof and heat proof glass or ceramic material. The heating element and its switch control is fitted to a 'U'-shaped clamp which is fitted by a quick release to an upper side edge of the housing. A tray is placed on the floor of the unit which is fitted with feet. The design simplifies access and the housing can be cleaned in a bowl or in a dishwasher after removal of the heater unit. The heater element itself comprises a single loop, and it is connected to the current supply by a flexible lead.
