Abstract
Abstract The trocar is for the insertion of operating instruments in body cavities, having a sleeve accommodating a sliding mandrel for an interchangeable instrument. A thin strip of material increases the friction with which the sleeve slides in the cavity. The thin strip of material (2) is wound in a spiral onto the sleeve and fixed to it, typically in the form of a coarse-pitch spiral of wire situated near the proximal end. The design appreciably reduces friction when inserting and removing, since the sleeve is screwed in and out.
