Abstract
Abstract The tractor is fitted with a main gear box as well as a group gear box which can be changed under torque, such as for ploughing. A reversing gear is also fitted to the group gears, operated by a single control lever. The leverage is simplified by a sleeve on the operating shaft with a slotted coupling to one gear selector, while the other gear selectors are activated normally. Thus rotating the operating shaft controls one set of gears, e.g. the group gears, while axial movement of the shaft operates on the sleeve to reverse the drive, without affecting the group gear setting.
