Abstract

The invention relates to a simple method for the pretreatment of measuring electrode arrangements for the electrochemical-amperometric determination of uric acid at manual measuring stations or automated flow systems. The measuring electrode is pre-polarized in the potential range of the oxygen reduction and subsequently exposed to a high uric acid concentration at the urinary urine measurement potential. The subsequent calibration is carried out using saline calibrating solutions or correct sera. The method is mainly used in chemical, biochemical and clinical-chemical laboratories.
