Electrical terminal connector
Abstract
Abstract This terminal connector consists of two busbar sections (50, 51; 60, 61) in tracks (2c, 2d) in an insulating material body (1). One busbar section (51, 61) is held in a fixed position and the second busbar section (50; 60) is arranged such that it can be displaced with respect thereto. The plate-shaped busbar sections rest on the base surfaces (53, 54; 63, 64), which are constructed in a stepped manner, of the tracks in such a manner that the surface of the fixed-position busbar section (51, 61), which is located at a lower level, is above the level of the upper base surface (54, 64). The second busbar section (50, 60) has a slot (56, 66) for an adjusting screw (57a, 67a) to pass through. When they are in the pushed-together state, the second busbar section covers the fixed-position busbar section by an amount which ensures reliable current transfer and, when they are in the state pushed apart from one another, a gap is formed which is more resistant to flashovers. Since the busbar sections are provided with screws (58a, 59a, 68a) for electrical leads to be attached in a clamped manner, only the two busbar sections and an adjusting screw are required as additional parts, in comparison with transit (through) terminals. Since, in the state when they are pushed apart from one another, the second busbar section overhangs the end surface of the insulating material support (1), a cable break can be detected visually. <IMAGE>
