Process and device for the surface-distributed scatter-coating of continuously moved webs with plastic powder
Abstract
Abstract A rotatably mounted, driven powder-entraining roll arranged at a distance above the web is used. The cylindrical outer circumferential surface, which is provided with a multiplicity of annular grooves, of said powder-entraining roll rotates below a supply vessel containing the plastic powder and entrains powder from the vessel on its circumference. This powder is subsequently removed again from the outer circumferential surface of the powder-entraining roll. The process is characterised in that the plastic powder (2) is blown off the outer circumferential surface (52) of the powder-entraining roll (5) by an air jet which is directed towards the outer circumferential surface (52) of the powder-entraining roll (5) and the intensity of which is just sufficient to release the plastic powder (2) located in the annular grooves (54) from the latter so that it falls down under the effect of gravity onto the webs moving past below the powder-entraining roll (5). <IMAGE>
