Abstract

Abstract The vehicle (1) comprises two motors (4, 5) controlled by means of a regulator (8) by a speed selector (9) and by a contactor (11) actuated by the brake pedal (12). The motors are connected to a bank of accumulators (13) capable of being recharged from the electric mains (14) or by panels of photo-electric cells (17) or by an electricity generating set (19) if the need arises. A traction selector (10) makes it possible to choose one of the motors (5) for propelling the vehicle (1). The other motor (4) is intended to operate as a generator and is capable of being coupled to the wheels (3) when the vehicle (1) is slowing down and requiring a slowing force greater than that supplied by the propulsion motor (5) operating as a generator. The energy recovered by the two motors (4, 5) operating as generators is used for recharging the bank of accumulators (13). <IMAGE>
