Flexible padded edge on a bed

Abstract

Abstract The comfort of a divan bed is to be given to conventional bedsteads. The padded edges (1) are inserted between the mattress (5) and the bed sides (3), the upper side of the padded edges lying at a higher level than the surface of the mattress. Since the padded edges (1) constitute a separate component, they can be provided with a removable cover. The problem of hygiene is thus also solved since said covers can be cleaned. The termination of the lying surface (5) which is raised all-around due to the padded edges (1) as well as the bed ends (6) impart a feeling of protection and allow sleeping without draughts. Furthermore, the sheets and covers are prevented from slipping off. <IMAGE>
