Abstract

Abstract A centrifuge for cleaning fluids contg. solids has a housing fed axially from below with the contaminated fluid and an upper outlet for the cleaned fluid. The dirt outlet is an annulus around the dirty fluid inlet. The paddle rotor and housing can be driven at equal or different relative speeds. Used esp. for cleaning coolants used in machining operations. In conventional centrifuges, restarting the liq. flow after removal of collected dirt can result in re-entrainment of residual particles. The new centrifuge can be cleared of solids without interruption fo the flow.
