Turbine blade concave/convex profiles - have constant thickness to certain point whence material thicknes to foot
Abstract
Abstract Running blade for thermic axial turbines, particularly steam turbines, comprises two blades which form the concave and convex profile. The thickness of the blades from the blade ends in the direction of the foot remains constant as far as a certain point with effect from which, by constant maximum tensile stress of the material, it increases as far as the foot so that the two blades almost come in contact with each other. In the one blade which constitutes the convex profile, holes are provided in the region of the inwards running edge and the end part of the blade, which catch droplets during the fluid phase.
