Carburettor for internal combustion engine - has air suction lines for producing mixture which produces exhaust with reduced toxicity
Abstract
Abstract This carburettor is used for preventing generation of toxic exhaust gases at low engine speeds. The carburettor has a throttling plate valve(4) and an air supply channel(12) connected into the main flow channel(7) between the idling fuel inlet(10) and the outlet bore(9) of the idling mixture channel(6). This air supply channel is connected by a flexible hose(13) with the chamber(15) of the valve(14). When the throttle valve is closed then vacuum is generated which is greater than one occurring on idling. Additional air is drawn in through the air entry channel(16) and into the additional air supply channel. This arrangement ensures that an excessively rich mixture will not reach the cylinders on stopping and starting.
