Disposable pallet made from cardboard layers - has flat load-carrying plate supported on four footrests
Abstract
Abstract The plate and footrests are made of bonded cardboard layers, whereby the layers run parallel to the surface of the plate. Manufacturing rejects or seconds are used for the construction of the plate, while the foot rests are constructed from cut-offs or waste from the same material. The plate is typically 2.5cm thick and has sides about 120cm long. The height of the footrests is about 10cm, and they are separated from one another by about 20 cm. The outermost footrest is at a distance from the plate edge of about 10 cm, i.e. about half the distance between neighbouring footrests. The pallet is preferably coated or impregnated with a rot-preventative chemical which can alternatively be mixed with the binder for the layers of cardboard.
