Abstract
Abstract The front part of the ski is provided with an arched member with hollow side walls. The hollow spaces or cells are partly filled with a granular material that will flow easily. If the ski starts to vibrate the granular material is thrown to the upper part of the cell from which it rebounds and strikes the floor of the cell at the moment that the ski begins to move in the opposite direction, thus effectively damping out the vibration. To suit the vibration characteristics of the ski the arch may be trapezoidal or semi-circular and the cells may be subdivided into several smaller cells.
