Abstract
Abstract Upholstery materials, esp. suitable for motor cars or aircraft, can be conveniently flameproofed by introducing a flame proofing agent (pref. a halogenated organic cpd., or a metal oxide such as Sb2O3) into the rubber latex used for binding the fibrous skeleton of the material (pref. polyester or polyamide). Mechanical properties of the material are not impaired, even when a relatively large amount of the flame proofing agent is used.
