A skid shoe mounting assembly for mounting to a respective sidewall of a snow blower auger housing comprising: a skid shoe including a base section having 2 generally horizontal extension and a strut section fixably mounted to said base section and having a generally vertical extension; said strut section having sequentially aligned along the general vertical center line of said strut, a first hole, a second hole, a vertical slot and a third hole; said slot being horizontally off-centered from said vertical center line in one direction and said third hole being horizontally offset from said vertical center line in another direction; said sidewall having a generally vertical extending slot in followed by a hole vertically spaced apart from said slot in said sidewall and horizontally displaced from said vertical center line of said slot; means for fixably and detachably mounting said skid shoe to said sidewall such that said base of said skid shoe is below said sidewall in one of a plurality of vertical positions; a first of said vertical positions aligned with said first hole in said strut to said lower portion of said slot in said sidewall and said hole in said sidewall to said lower portion of said slot in said strut; a second of said vertical positions aligning said second hole in said strut to said upper portion of said strut in said sidewall and said hole in said wall to said upper portion of said slot in said strut; and a third of said vertical positions aligning said second hole in said strut to said lower portion of said slot in said sidewall and said third hole in said strut to said hole in said sidewall.
