Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim
133 words
A box beam element of sandwich construction, especially a supporting floor or roof element, comprising two spaced-apart parallel surface plates, a plurality of longitudinal web plates located between the surface plates and connected to the surface plates at the longitudinal edges of said web plates, and a core of a foam plastics material filling the spaces between the surface and web plates, the longitudinal edges of the web plates forming a slit with the corresponding surface plate, said slit being filled with a hardened adhesive layer of the foamed plastics material filling said spaces of the box beam, characterized in that the longitudinal edges of the web plates and/or the inner surfaces of the surface plates are provided with means for supporting the web plates in place with respect to the surface plates.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
63 words
A box beam element according to claim 1, characterized in that the inner surface of the surface plate is planar at the location of the web plate, and in that the longitudinal edge of the web plate is at least partially in the longitudinal direction of the web plate provided with projections by means of which the web plate contacts the surface plate.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
69 words
A box beam according to claim 1 characterized in that the longitudinal edge of the web plate is planar and the inner surface of the surface plate is provided with a groove at the location of the web plate, the bottom of said groove being at least partially in the longitudinal direction of said groove provided with projections by means of which the surface plate contacts the web plate.
Claim 5
Independent Claim
131 words
A method of manufacturing a box beam element of sandwich construction, especially a floor or roof element, by connecting two spaced-apart parallel surface plates to each other by means of longitudinal spaced-apart web plates arranged between said surface plates, forming between the longitudinal edges of the web plates and the surface plates narrow slits, filling the spaces between the web plates by foaming a foamable plastics material, whereby the web plates are fastened to the surface plates by means of said foamed plastics material penetrating into said slits and, upon hardening, forming an adhesive layer filling said slit, characterized by supporting the web plates during foaming by means of continuous or discontinuous protuberances formed on the longitudinal edges of the web plates and/or in the inner surfaces of the surface plates.
Claim 6
