Claim 1
Independent Claim
72 words
A method for the removal of dissolved water from a light liquid hydrocarbon stream at a temperature less than 200°F comprising: exposing one side of a supported cellulose ester membrane with said light liquid hydrocarbon stream containing dissolved water; maintaining a positive differential pressure across said membrane from the feed side to the permeate side; separately removing the permeate stream and the residue of the feed stream from contact with said membrane.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
72 words
A method for the removal of dissolved water from a light liquid hydrocarbon stream at a temperature less than 200°F comprising: exposing one side of a supported cellulose ester membrane with said light liquid hydrocarbon stream containing dissolved water; maintaining a positive differential pressure across said membrane from the feed side to the permeate side; separately removing the permeate stream and the residue of the feed stream from contact with said membrane.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
32 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said membranous material is selected from the group comprising cellulose acetate, cellulous diacetate, cellulose triacetate, cellulose propionate, cellulose butyrate, cellulose cyanoethylate, cellulose methacrylate and mixtures thereof.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
18 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said differential pressure is from about 5 psi to about 2475 psi.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
21 words
The method of claim 3 wherein said cellulose ester membrane is a mixture of cellulose acetate, cellulose diacetate and cellulose triacetate.
