Abstract
Abstract NESTABLE CONTAINERS WITH MISALIGNED TEXTURED NESTING SURFACES Abstract of the Disclosure Nestable containers are disclosed which are pro-vided with textured nesting surfaces. The texture of each nesting surface is misaligned with respect to the containers immediately above and below it in a stack thereby (1) trapping a layer of air between the containers, (2) permitting entry of additional air therebetween when a container is removed from the stack, and (3) reducing the area of contact. This construction prevents sticking and greatly facilitates removal of containers from a stack.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
113 words
A stack of nestable containers comprising: a plurality of containers inserted one inside the other, each having a bottom and sides extending upwardly there-from and a raised textured pattern extending over both the inner and outer surfaces of said bottom and sides, said pattern being constituted by portions raised only slightly above said surfaces and being relatively small in width and length, each container in said stack having its pattern misaligned with respect to the pattern on the containers immediately above and below it, said raised portions on adjacent containers contacting each other to maintain the bottom and side surfaces spaced apart thereby to facilitate easy removal of the container from the stack.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
26 words
The device according to Claim 1 wherein said containers are molded plastic and said textured pattern is embossed on said containers during molding of the containers.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
30 words
The device according to Claim 1 wherein misalign-ment of the textured pattern is due to varying the angular orientation of the textured pattern on immediately adjacent containers in the stack.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
26 words
The device according to Claim 1 wherein said misalignment is accomplished by varying the dimensions of the textured pattern on immediately adjacent containers in the stack.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
11 words
The device according to Claim 1 wherein said containers are trays.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
16 words
The device according to Claim 1 wherein said containers are cups having inwardly tapering side walls.
