Abstract
Abstract Abstract of the Disclosure A reinforcing insert for an ice-hockey boot of synthetic material is provided. The insert has sole and upper parts made in one piece of a material stuffer than that of the boot. The parts have spaced openings therethrough and the upper part has a series of spaced projections on its outer surface. A boot including the insert is made of a foamed synthetic material that passes through the openings in the insert. The projections act as spacers spacing the insert from the mould during the moulding process.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim
74 words
A reinforcing insert for an ice-hockey boot made of a synthetic material, said insert having a sole part and an upper part including a toe-cap, heel-cap and side walls, and being made in one piece of a synthetic material, characterized in that openings are provided in the sole part and upper part of the reinforcing insert, while projections are arranged, in spaced relationship to each other, on the outer surface of the upper part.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
50 words
A reinforcing insert according to claim 1, characterized in that longitudinal slots are provided in the upper in the vicinity of the toe-cap and the heel-cap, the said slots opening into free edges of the upper and being arranged symmetrically in relation to a longitudinal central plane of the insert.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
64 words
A reinforcing insert according to claim 1, characterized in that a longitudinal slot is provided in the upper in the vicinity of the heel-cap, the said slot opening into a free edge of the upper; and in that a bending area running transversely of the sole part is provided in the ball of the foot area of the sole part behind an unbroken toe-cap.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
28 words
A reinforcing insert according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the wall thickness of the upper part is less than that of the sole part.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
38 words
A reinforcing insert according to claim 1,2 or 3 characterized in that the projections on the outer surface of the upper part are arranged in at least one row running around the periphery of the said upper part.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
36 words
A reinforcing insert according to claim 1, 2 or 3,characterized in that the projections on the outer surface of the upper part are sub-stantially in the form of pins tapering to points at their free ends.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
41 words
A reinforcing insert according to claim 1,2 or 3 characterized in that the projections on the outer surface of the upper part are in sub-stantially parallel arrangement and extend substantially at right angles to a longitudinal central plane of the insert.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
168 words
An ice-hockey boot having a one-piece shell made of a synthetic material and having an upper and a sole carrying the skate, characterized in that the shell is moulded from a foamed synthetic material and is provided with an inner lining of a textile material; and in that a reinforcing insert, made in one piece of a synthetic material stiffer than the material of the shell, is embedded into the said shell material and is completely surrounded thereby, said insert having a sole part and an upper part including a toe-cap, a heel-cap and side walls, openings being provided in the sole and upper parts and projections being arranged, in spaced a part relationship, on the outer surface of the upper part, the said shell material passing through the openings arranged in the sole part and upper part of the insert, and at least the majority of the projections on the outer surface of the upper of the insert extending as far as the outer surface of the shell.
