Abstract
Abstract Slow-release pharmaceutical compsn. for oral admin. comprises (1) an active ingredient and (2) as pharmaceutically acceptable excipient a mixt.of at least dimethylpolysiloxane (I), silicic acid (II), mannans and/or galactans (III), xanthans (IV) and micronised algae (V). Pref. the excipient contains (by wt.) 15-50, esp. 25, pts. (I); 30-100, esp. 50, pts. (II); 30-100, esp. 50, pts. (III); 50-150, esp. 75, pts. (IV); and 5-75, esp. 50, pts. (V). - Component (I) is esp. dimethylpolysiloxane 500 and (III) is esp. a mixt.of both mannan and galactan. Suitable active ingredients are xanthine derivs., anti-inflammatories, beta-blockers, Ca inhibitors, antiepileptics, benzodiazepines, diuretics, analgesics, hormones and anti-depressants.
