Microprocessor-controlled collating machine - uses motor driven platform to select shelves contg. required pages from storage racks and suction head to lift off top pages
Abstract
Abstract The machine selects pages or collates documents from pages inserted in moveable shelves in a cabinet. The pages can be assembled in any order, due to a keyboard-controlled microprocessor. Between the two columns of shelves is a cavity in which a table moves up and down, driven by a motor via four endless chains, which run on sprockets. The table stops alongside the required shelf, and the chain drive engages protrusions on the required shelf and draws it sideways onto the table. - The shelf is then lifted to the top of the cavity, where the top sheet of the pile of paper on the shelf is picked up by a suction head and placed in a tray on the top of the cabinet. The table then returns the shelf to its original position and selects the next one required.(0/9)
