Digital phase detector which prevents errors - always keeps wanted signal coincident or in advance of reference
Abstract
Abstract The digital phase detector has a correction circuit (KS) connected to the two inputs of the phase discriminator. The reference signal (R) and the wanted signal (V) are applied to the correction circuit's two inputs. The correction circuit switches its inputs such that the trailing edges of the reference and wanted signals coincide at its outputs or such that the trailing edge of the wanted signal preceeds that of the reference signal. The correction circuit comprises a specified configuration of gates coupled to the monoflop. The advantage lies in preventing errors due to the reappearance of an interrupted reference signal taking place with the new reference signal pahse in advance of the phase of the old signal.
