Claim 3

The" method of claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of hydrogen peroxide to iodine derived from said complex in said oral lavage P' in the range from about 0.25:1 to about 200:1.

The method of claim 1 wherein said povidone iodine complex is added to said aqueous solution as an aqueous alcoholic solution.

Claim 5

a 4. The method of claim 1 wherein said oral S, oa r2lavage contains from about 1.0 to about 4.0 percent by a weight of hydrogen peroxide and from about 0.12 to about percent by weight of iodine derived from said af complex. o

The method of claim 1 wherein the weight ratio of hydrogen peroxide to iodine derived from said o complex in said oral lavage is in the range from about B 2:1 to about 40:1. 0

The method of claim 1 wherein said oral lavage is applied to said teeth and perioiontium by $z I rinsing the mouth with said oral lavage. i

Claim 8

The method of claim 1 wherein said oral lavage is applied to said teeth and periodontium by infusing said oral lavage between said teeth and gums ,surrounding said teeth.

Claim 9

The method of claim 7 wherein said oral lavage is also applied to said teeth and periodontium by rinsing the mouth with said oral lavage.

Claim 10

An oral lavage comprised of an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide and povidone iodine complex, wherein said oral lavage contains from about to about 10.0 percent by weight of hydrogen peroxide and from about 0.05 to about 2.0 percent by weight of iodine derived from said complex.

An oral lavage comprised of an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide and povidone iodine complex, wherein said oral lavage contains from about to about 10.0 percent by weight of hydrogen peroxide and from about 0.05 to about 2.0 percent by weight of iodine derived from said complex.

The oral lavage of claim 9 wherein the weight ratio of hydrogen peroxide to iodine derived from said complex in said oral lavage is in the range from about 0.25:1 to about 200:1.

The 'oral lavage of claim 10 comprised of an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide and povidone iodine complex, wherein said oral lavage contains from S" about 1.0 to about 4.0 percent by weight of hydrogen peroxide and from about 0.12 to about 0.5 percent by weight of iodine derived from said complex.
