Abstract

Abstract In injection nozzles, it is advantageous if the amount of fuel to be injected initially rises slowly, while the main amount is not injected until a subsequent injection phase. In this case, the process of closing the nozzle needle is intended to be carried out as quickly as possible. A disadvantage of known injection nozzles of this type is that the nozzle needle has to move through a defined distance in order to open up a relief hole in said nozzle needle. The invention now proposes that the hole 21 originate in a known manner from the tip 5 of the nozzle needle 3, that the space 23 bounded by the nozzle body 1 and the nozzle needle 3 be bounded on its side facing the leakage oil area 27 by an intermediate plate 14, in which case the fuel flows away via the flow connection 31 from the pressure area 9 into the leakage oil area 27 immediately after the nozzle needle 3 has been opened, and that a stop 17 be provided in a manner known per se, which stop 17 limits the travel 18 of the nozzle needle 3, is located in the region of the flow connection 31, and interacts at least indirectly with the step 16 on the nozzle needle 3, with the flow connection 31 from the space 23 which is bounded by the nozzle body 1 and the nozzle needle 3 to the leakage oil area 27 being interrupted when the nozzle needle 3 is in the position against the stop. <IMAGE>
