Lock with a mechanical and electrical blocking mechanism
Abstract
Abstract A lock with a mechanical and electrical (electronic) blocking mechanism and a key 3 for such a lock have at least two transmission zones in the form of infrared transmission and reception diodes 6, 7; 8, 9 which are located opposite one another in pairs as soon as the key 3 is inserted into the lock. A lock code C1 is transmitted to the key 3 and compared with the key code C1, and, if the codes are identical, the key emits, via an infrared transmission diode 8, a further key code C2 which is received in the lock by an infrared reception diode 9 and is compared with the further lock code C2. Only then does an interlock 18 open, which takes effect in addition to the mechanical blocking mechanism by means of core pins and housing pins in the lock cylinder 1. In parallel with the code transmission and code comparison C1, C2, an acknowledgement K1, K2 may also be provided for each transmission zone. The codes provided may be the store contents of the stores 10, 12; 14, 16; 20, 26; 21, 23, the said store contents rotating in a synchronizable time cycle. <IMAGE>
